State Contest Information
ALL interested teams need to enter a Regional Qualification Dairy Cattle CDE Event & place in the top 5 - 7 teams to advance to the next CDE Level.
DATE: Live State Dairy Cattle CDE Event - FRIDAY April 24, 2026. Teams MAY ride bus from campus or report directly to Pavilion #2 at Alliant Energy Center
Time: 7:30 am BUS DEPART (bus depart from UW -Stock Pavilion @ 7:30) - 1 p.m. Registration 7:45 a.m. Contest start time =8: 15 a.m. Teams will be dismissed by Contest Supt. Do NOT plan to depart earlier than 1 p.m.
Location: Live Contest will held at Alliant Energy Center (Pavilion #2) in conjunction with the Spring Dairy Showcase cattle event.

Overview
Students develop skills important to dairy cattle selection and herd management via this team-based event. The Dairy Cattle Evaluation and Management Career Development Event (CDE) helps students develop skills in dairy cattle selection and herd management. Participants evaluate the cattle’s physical characteristics, explain their various classes and analyze a herd record as a team.
