STATE COMPETITION INFORMATION
Agriculture Education is a new CDE to be offered to WI FFA Members in 2026. This will be an individual CDE event for 2026 and chapters are allowed to have 1 contestant enter this CDE for 2026. Students who compete in the Ag Ed CDE are able to compete in other CDE events as long as the 2 CDE events do not occur on the same date.
All interested Individuals will need to enter the State AG Education CDE Event. All contestants will compete at the State CDE Event. There will be a preliminary round lesson plan evaluation and a final live event.
DATE: Thursday March 26, 2026 Live State Contest to be held during the UW-Platteville Regional CDE events. For 2026 the this is a STATE level activity being held ONLY at UW-Platteville Regional CDE Contest Day.
TIME: 9.a.m This is an Official Dress CDE Event. Members should wear offical dress.
LOCATION: UW- Platteville Campus - building and rooms to be determined
Updated Time Frame: Registration will close on Friday Feb 18th at 5 p.m.
ALL contestants will need to email thier Lesson Plan by Wed March 4th at 5 p.m.
12 Finalist will be selected for the live CDE - Notification will take place on Monday March 9th
Materials for live lesson needs to be submitted by Monday March 16th (only top 12 need to do this)
Live Contest Thursday March 24th 9 a.m. at UW-Platteville.
SPECIAL NOTE: Each contestant is asked to bring along another FFA member from their chapter to serve as a student in the class during the lesson demonstration. This CDE will need 8-15 additional members to particiapte in the class on the day of the CDE. Designation and sign up of these members will be included in the registraation link.

Overview

The Agricultural Education CDE is designed for FFA members to develop, practice and demonstrate skills in teaching agricultural education. Each part of the event simulates, as closely as possible, real-world classroom teaching and learning activities and procedures.

This event is open to students in grades 9-12 who are agricultural education students, and are paid members of a chartered Wisconsin FFA chapter. Each student’s name must appear on the chapter’s FFA roster.
|
Students will be asked to design a lesson, teach/present this lesson and design/conduct an assessment of the ag lesson. Details for the types of lesson and examples can be found in the linked materials below.
